HPForward is a local organization dedicated to making the world a better place one Random Act of Kindness at a time. It is our belief that if we want to solve some of the big issues in the world, especially when there are deep ideological differences between the disagreeing factions, then we should start with building trust with each other - and we want our community to lead in this effort.
You may know us from our Facebook Page or from meeting us at Highland Park's Martin Luther King Day of Service or from our work with Catholic Charities and our dinners feeding the poor at St. James Church in Highwood. No matter how you have heard of us, the most important thing is that you consider joining us to try to make our community a kinder place to live and raise a family.
HPForward's Vision Statement: We want to see the city of Highland Park going out of their way to show kindness to others. We want it to become second nature and for that kindness to spread to neighboring towns. Success will look like people are celebrating the holidays every day of the year and remembering what joy there is in giving.
The other critical thing we need from you is to tell others about our efforts. Like us on Facebook and tweet about us on Twitter, or at the very least, discuss it with your friends and family. Help us build excitement for the kind of power inherent in doing good deeds, because kindness starts HERE with YOU!

This is what we are asking: If you have received a card, please tell us about your experience in our Blog. After that, perform an act of kindness and along with it, hand the person the HPForward Card. That's it. if you want a card, send us a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we will send one right out. Whether you are from the North Shore of Illinois or from another part of the state or country for that matter, the truth remains that, in the words of Leo Buscaglia, "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential of turning a life around." The folks at HPForward are looking to make real honest to goodness human connections with our neighbors and fellow citizens through the use of word of mouth, social media and the HPForward Card. Think about it; when do you ever feel better about yourself than when you do a selfless act which makes someone else smile? The power of that feeling is different than writing a check to a charity or donating some clothing to Goodwill. It is our hope that if we actively go out of our way to do nice things for each other, we can change the world.
